I cannot for the life of me figure out how this place gets so many four and five star reviews. This was hands down the worst hotel I've had the... read more misfortune of staying at, possibly ever, for multiple reasons:

The management - We traveled all over Albania and experienced fantastic customer service everywhere...except here. Everyone acted like we were bothering them with basic questions like "can we check in" and "how do we book a rafting excursion". Oftentimes the reception counter isn't staffed at all, in which case you have to ask one of the wait staff to find the reception person which also (unsurprisingly) annoys them greatly.

The accomodation - unless you are paying for their most expensive rooms, you are not in the castle. Instead you are situation in a crap shack above the parking lot that's reminiscent of a seedy motel in a 70s slasher film. The wood was peeling off the wall and the toilet moved when you sat down on it. The beds were also some of the worst we've slept on in years.

The food - reminiscent of camp or cafeteria food you get in the US, and way more expensive that the delicious food you can get down in Berat's city center.

The location - if you don't have a car it's a mile long trek up/down a steep hill and it's hard to get a taxi up there.

Please please ignore the YouTubers that are raving about this place because they clearly had their room comped and spend your money elsewhere.

Even the bathroom! 🙂 The food was wonderful, the hotel's restaurant offers traditional Albanian food, very tasty and unique. For the best family experience, I recommend trying some of the activities they offer. We tried the traditional cooking course and the kids were thrilled. The staff was very friendly and helped the kids cook the best dishes 😀 We also tried rafting in the Osumi Canyon, which was the best experience we had so far. The guides were professional, we felt safe with them and they know how to deal with the kids. I totally recommend them! You should definitely consider the hotel for a few nights if you want to have a unique experience in Albania 🙂

The recepsionist was very friendly and gave me a beautuful... read more room .The hotel was very clean and confortable.The breakfast was tasty and special because they offer only homemade dishes.Every evening i choose restaurant Castle Park to have dinner as they cook traditional fresh dishes .I would recomande every one this beautiful place in the middle of the pines only 1,5 km from hanging bridge in Gorica old quartier

  Unique hotel with fun activities and tours on offer!  - What a cool experience in Berat! The hotel is located in the forest less than 5 minutes from Berat's centre with plenty of parking. I stayed in one of their... read more small villas which boasts traditionally furnished rooms in keeping with the surrounding nature. There wasn't a menu at breakfast but you're served a variety of different foods to try in small quantities. What I loved about this hotel is how many activities they offer guests (and non-guests). I partook in one of their traditional Albanian cooking classes in the kitchen which was a lot of fun and afterwards I was able to eat my creations while enjoying a mountain view. I also went on one of their rafting tours in the Osumi Canyon which takes most of the day but includes lunch at a local restaurant. Make sure you look at their activities and tours on their website because they have a lot more to offer too.
